In-House Team
The benefits of having our own designers, site supervisors, and project managers is that during the building process we don’t have to rely on external parties when questions on blueprints arise. This allows us to be flexible, nimble with changes, as well as highly proficient when it comes to coordinating our builds. -

When selecting a custom home builder, it is important to compare cost along with quality and ensure this is clearly documented. Our Process
Our in-house BCIN certified Design team and seasoned Project Management team ensure seamless workflow from the production of structural drawings to timely construction of residential and commercial rebuilds.
- Planning and Design
- It all begins with finding your perfect lot – we can assist you if you are looking (call us).
- Once you have a lot we can drill test holes to ensure there are no issues with the property – ideally a condition in your Lot Purchase agreement.
- Our planning team will research applicable by-laws and zoning to determine set backs and positioning of any new proposed structure.
- Based on your vision and budget we will create a custom floorplan for you – we offer 3D modelling so you can really get a feel for your new space.
- Once you are happy with your design we will produce the Surveys required for your property along with Structural drawings that include HVAC, Truss, and Septic designs if required.
- We will apply for all permits and deal with any coordination of conservation authorities, including production of Arborist reports.
- We provide you with a dedicated Project Manager / Site Supervisor who will detail a construction schedule for you.
- Upon permit pick-up, we will enrol your build with Tarion so you have the peace of mind that comes with Warranty coverage before proceeding to phase 2.
- At this point, we can begin the fun process of making your selections for the interior and exterior of your home and schedule appointments for millwork, flooring, lighting, trim, windows, doors, stone/brick, and plumbing fixtures.
- If you desire any custom features such as smart home systems, in floor heating, intricate ceiling designs, we will setup specific consultations for those.
- Construction and Servicing
- Our licensed demolition and abatement teams will demolition any existing property/structure if required and shut off services.
- New services will be installed as needed: Hydro/Gas, Water/Well, Sewer/Septic.
- Construction of the exterior and interior will take place using only the quality materials and workmanship that Royal Star Builders guarantees as part of our builds.
- All city inspections will be coordinated, and reports are will be readily available to you so you can see the quality of our craftmanship.
- Our Project Management team will provide you with status reports each step of the way and walk-throughs will be provided during the major milestones.
- A 3D model of the kitchen (considered by many, the most important room of the house) will be provided to you in advance of the kitchen being installed so you know exactly what you are getting and can make any tweaks if required.
- Delivery and Post Care
- Once construction is finalized, we will perform a walk-through of you home and complete a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Report which will be sent to Tarion.
- You will be provided the keys to your new home and operational manuals for the furnace, HVAC, and other major systems of your house.
- Our customer care channels are open to serve you (email and direct phone). In addition, we provide emergency numbers for the essential services.
